Switch Prompting Modes
Director offers two prompting modes for image generation: Enhanced (default) and Raw. Choose the mode that matches your creative workflow.
Prompting modes explained
| Mode | What it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Enhanced | Director improves your prompts with cinematic details, lighting, and camera work | Quick creative exploration, beginners |

Enhanced mode details
What Director adds
When you type "sunset over mountains," Enhanced mode might expand it to:
- Cinematic lighting and golden hour atmosphere
- Professional camera settings and composition
- Atmospheric depth and color grading
- Visual storytelling elements
When to use Enhanced
✅ Perfect for:
- Getting started with image generation
- Creative brainstorming and exploration
- Quick concept development
- When you want cinematic, professional results
Enhanced mode tips
- Keep prompts simple — Let Director add the technical details
- Focus on subject and mood — "happy dog in park" works great
- Include style references — "in the style of a vintage poster"
Raw mode details
Exact prompt control
Raw mode uses your words exactly as written. What you type is what gets generated—no additions, no modifications.
When to use Raw
✅ Perfect for:
- Precise creative control
- Technical or specific requirements
- Matching exact styles or compositions
- When Enhanced mode changes too much
Raw mode tips
- Be specific — Include lighting, camera angles, style details
- Add technical terms — "shot on 35mm film, shallow depth of field"
- Specify composition — "close-up portrait, rule of thirds"
Examples
Enhanced mode prompt
Input: "robot in a kitchen"
Director expands to: "A sleek humanoid robot in a modern kitchen,
warm ambient lighting, shot with professional camera, cinematic
composition with shallow depth of field..."
Raw mode prompt
Input: "robot in a kitchen"
Generation uses: "robot in a kitchen" (exactly as written)
Troubleshooting
Enhanced mode results look too different Try Raw mode for more control, or be more specific in Enhanced mode.
Raw mode images aren't cinematic enough Add technical details like "cinematic lighting, professional photography, shallow depth of field" to your prompts.
Mode switch not visible Make sure you're in the Image or Video tab — mode switching is available for generation, not the AI Director chat.
