Storyboard

Storyboard is where you plan your video shot-by-shot and generate AI-powered video and audio content for each scene.

What is Storyboard?

Storyboard bridges the gap between pre-production planning and final video production. It lets you:

  • Break your narrative into individual scenes
  • Add descriptions and visual references to each scene
  • Generate AI video takes for each scene through the AI Director chat
  • Generate AI audio tracks for voiceovers and sound effects
  • Preview your entire sequence in the timeline
  • Organize and reorder scenes as your vision evolves

How it fits in your workflow

Mito has three work modes:

  1. Pre-Production (Canvas) — Gather references and build moodboards
  2. Storyboard — Plan scenes and generate video and audio content
  3. Production — Assemble your final video

Storyboard is where your creative vision starts becoming actual video content.

Key concepts

Scenes

A scene represents a single shot or moment in your video. Each scene includes:

  • Duration — How long the shot will be
  • Narrative — A text description of what happens
  • Visual descriptions — Reference images that inspire the look
  • Custom fields — Any additional metadata you want to track

Takes

A take is a generated video for a specific scene. You can:

  • Generate multiple takes per scene to explore different directions
  • Compare takes and select your favorite
  • Download takes for use in production

Audio Tracks

Generate AI audio for your scenes including:

  • Voiceovers and narration — Professional voices speaking your content
  • Sound effects — Environmental sounds and audio textures
  • Background audio — Atmospheric sounds that enhance the mood
