Sharing Assets Publicly

Share your Canvas assets, Storyboard scenes, and generated content publicly so others can discover your creative work. When you include your referral code, you can also earn credits when people sign up for Mito through your shared links.

How asset sharing works

When you share an asset publicly:

  1. Mito creates a public link that anyone can access without signing in
  2. Your work is showcased on a dedicated sharing page with your profile
  3. Viewers can see your process (if you choose to include creation history)
  4. People can sign up for Mito directly from your shared content
  5. You earn referral credits when they subscribe to a paid plan
Best for portfolios and inspiration

Public asset sharing is perfect for showcasing your creative process, building a portfolio, or inspiring others with your Mito workflows.

Sharing an asset

From Canvas, Storyboard, or Mito Director

  1. Select any asset you want to share (image, video, audio, or document)
  2. Click the Share button (globe icon) in the asset controls
  3. Configure your sharing settings:
    • Share your process history — Include the conversation that created this asset
    • Include my referral code — Earn credits when people sign up through your link
  4. Copy the share link or use the social sharing buttons

Sharing settings explained

Share your process history:

  • ✅ Enabled: Shows the full conversation and prompts used to create the asset
  • ❌ Disabled: Only shows the final asset without creation context

Include my referral code (for Owners and Editors):

  • ✅ Enabled: Your unique referral code is added to the shared link
  • ❌ Disabled: Shared link doesn't include referral tracking
  • Default: Enabled (recommended to earn credits)
Referral codes are workspace-specific

Each workspace has its own referral code. Credits from shared assets are earned by the workspace where the asset was created.

Social sharing options

Quick sharing: Use the built-in social buttons to share directly to:

  • X (Twitter) — Share with your followers
  • LinkedIn — Post professionally to your network
  • Facebook — Share with friends and communities
  • Email — Send a formatted link to specific people

Manual sharing: Copy the link and share it anywhere:

  • In messaging apps or social platforms
  • On your website or blog
  • In creative communities and forums
  • As part of your portfolio

What viewers see

When someone visits your shared asset link, they see:

Asset display

  • Full-size preview of your image, video, or audio
  • High-quality viewing with zoom and download options
  • Professional presentation that showcases your work

Creator information

  • Your profile name as the creator
  • "Shared by [Your Name]" attribution
  • Professional context that builds your reputation

Creation process (if enabled)

  • Complete conversation history showing your prompts and iterations
  • Creative workflow that others can learn from
  • Transparent process that demonstrates Mito's capabilities

Call-to-action

  • "Try MITO for free" button prominently displayed

Include process history for better results

Sharing your creative process helps viewers understand how Mito works and makes them more likely to sign up, increasing your referral earnings.

Earning credits through shared assets

How referral earnings work with shared assets

  1. You share an asset with "Include my referral code" enabled
  2. Someone discovers your work and clicks to your shared link
  3. They decide to try Mito and click "Try MITO for free"
  4. They sign up using the referral-coded link
  5. They get 500 credits immediately upon registration
  6. You earn 1,000 credits when they subscribe to a paid plan

Maximizing your referral earnings

Share your best work:

  • High-quality, impressive assets attract more viewers
  • Showcase diverse use cases to appeal to different audiences
  • Include polished, professional-looking results

Include creation history:

  • Shows the power and ease of Mito's AI tools
  • Helps viewers understand how they could use Mito
  • Demonstrates the value of a Mito subscription

Share strategically:

  • Post in relevant creative communities
  • Share on social media when you're proud of the results
  • Include in your professional portfolio or website

Keep referral codes enabled:

  • Default setting is on for good reason
  • Passive income from your creative work
  • No downside to including referral tracking
Long-term earning potential

Unlike direct referral links, shared assets can continue earning you credits for months or years as people discover your work online.

Managing your shared assets

Updating sharing preferences

Your preferences are remembered:

  • "Include my referral code" setting persists between shares
  • Stored locally in your browser for convenience
  • Can be changed per asset as needed

To update preferences:

  1. Open any asset sharing dialog
  2. Toggle the "Include my referral code" option
  3. Your choice is saved for future shares

Privacy and control

Public sharing means:

  • Anyone with the link can view your asset
  • Your asset appears on share.mito.ai with a unique URL
  • Viewers don't need a Mito account to see your work

You control:

  • Which assets you choose to share publicly
  • Whether to include creation history or just final results
  • Whether to include your referral code
  • You can delete shares if needed
Public sharing considerations

Only share assets you're comfortable with being publicly visible. Consider client confidentiality and intellectual property before sharing work-related projects.

Troubleshooting sharing

I don't see the Share button

Possible causes:

  • You're not an Owner or Editor in this workspace
  • The asset may be in a private or draft state
  • Sharing may not be enabled for your account

Solutions:

  1. Check your workspace permissions
  2. Ensure the asset is finalized (not still generating)
  3. Try refreshing the page

The referral toggle isn't showing

Check these details:

  1. Verify your workspace has a referral code — Visit Settings → Referral
  2. Confirm you're an Owner or Editor — Viewers cannot use referral features
  3. Ensure you're making a public share — Private shares don't include referral options

Common issues:

  • Link was copied incompletely
  • Asset sharing was disabled after link creation
  • Network connectivity problems

Quick fixes:

  1. Recopy the link using the share dialog
  2. Test in a private browser window to verify it works
  3. Check that the asset still exists in your project

People aren't signing up from my shares

Improve your sharing strategy:

  • Share more compelling work that showcases Mito's capabilities
  • Include creation history to show the creative process
  • Post in relevant communities where your target audience gathers
  • Write engaging captions when posting on social media
